MASON & HAMLIN Grand Model A
5' 8 1/2"
Mason & Hamlin pianos were established in 1854 out of Boston Massachusetts by Emmons Hamlin and Henry Mason. They are known for their boundless colossal power, bright tonal attributes, and outstanding clarity, this is due in part to a design feature called the “Centripetal Tension Resonator” which is a spider looking device placed under the soundboard, and connected to the case of the piano. It is adjusted to create tension, effectively ‘pulling’ the case inward, and helping the soundboard to retain its shape.
