1964 Baldwin Grand Model M in Mahogany

BALDWIN Grand Model M

Mahogany

Cleveland, Ohio

1964

5'1"

Known as the Chevrolet of pianos, this is the perfect Baby Grand. It has a highly refined Action and the tone is rich and singing. Something to be expected from a piano of this age.

Baldwin Pianos was established in 1862 by DH Baldwin. During WWII, Baldwin ceased the production of pianos to build plywood parts for airplanes. Once the war was over, they resumed the production of pianos and used their knowledge of building plywood airplane parts to construct their now-famous 21 ply pinblocks. Another unique Baldwin feature is their Accu-Just hitchpins which allow technicians to change the pressure of the string across the bridge for optimal resonance.

Baldwin Pianos are known for their big “American” sound, especially in the bass, and the clear “bell-like” quality of the treble.

Notable Baldwin artists include Aaron Copeland, Liberace, Miley Cyrus, and Dave Brubeck.
